President’s Message

Per state regulations, medication passes must be completed within a two-hour window. If the DOH State Surveyors come to visit and you have not completed your medication passes within those two hours, you may be disciplined. To protect yourself, every day complete a short staffing form ASAP, before or shortly after your shift. REMEMBER to give a copy: to your manager, the union, and keep a copy for yourself. Patients have been admitted to the rehabilitation center addicted to opioids. Training was provided to notice the signs of addiction and Members were taught how to administer Narcan nasal spray. Under physician’s orders, a nurse may administer Narcan nasal spray to patients who have overdosed. We are looking for a new Vice President and Stewards; please consider an active role in your Union!
